WEEK 5/6


Lay planning a difficult skirt pattern and using chalk to trace round the pattern to cut as we couldn't pin this fabric as it would leave the holes.




Working out which pieces need block fusing and lay planning them on fabric.


I had to make a few trips to one of Eudon Choi's factories in Tottenham where I had to bring many garments and explain where they should place the button holes and whether the stitch was in contrast. 


Eudon's birthday!!! We did have a few lunches out and lots of cake!



Learning how to fray properly with 10 trousers and tops needed fraying for the show.



Learning how to stitch buttons properly so they don't fall off :) The night before the show there will be a lot of buttons to stitch all night!

The final week build up! On the final week build up I was put in charge of working with the Stylist as I had told my designer I was really interested in styling.  I laid out the accessories and shoes ready to try on a model. I spent 2 days just with the Stylist and the Main designer, Eudon Choi. I was interested as to how the stylist puts together the different garments. There were 4 rails of different garments to style. After a few hours I got the hang of it and got really into it.  Here are some of the models during castings trying on the garments we had styled from the previous day. WEEK 1/2

Creating concept boards for AW18. Fisherman- Mixed old style tailoring. Looking at details Straps Rope Layers Creating a personal pinterest board in response to our general group work. Focusing on 1 style and detail. I chose paper bag trouser type and rope.  I looked at details, styling, an older more original imagery of fisherman for inspiration.  Cutting out a shirt toile and making. Making sure lay plan is correct to minimise excess fabric waste. Pattern tracing and adapting.  Learning how to LAY PLAN properly- doing RATINGS for consumption and costs. Using past designs from previous seasons to look for patterns to adapt for new season. Pattern arranging and organising here. Every section is a different year and season. We were asked to find different styles from previous seasons to adapt for AW 18.  Messy small studio :)  Running Errands- Delivery time.
